A.B.TOWN and masked headers

A.B.Town started masking their headers a couple days ago.  ever since my nzedb server has not been grabbing releases properly.  not sure if we have a plan to add the decryption or i have a setting that is amiss.

assuming you are doing indexing of this group, you would see what type of details they are obscuring.

exactly sir.  seeing the same thing.  i just figured we had this kick ass decrypt ability or something planned for the future we would be able to reap the benefits.

i for one if we saw this in NZEDB would donate generously from the treasure i took from Porno_Smaug's lair...

and this is in no way a slight to nzedb JB, you know i think what you and the team have done is nothing short of amazing. big fan.

Edit: this seems only somewhat effective..

Edit2: This works much better if you set a minimum size for the group. I set mine for 100mb. I am mainly looking for video content.

decryp is not a solution, filtering for >100mb files only makes it better because a lot of the eBook releases are masked(<5mb)

fixreleasenames filename still works on most of them. May not be a "solution" but its a bandaid.

Hi sir,

may I ask how/where to run this command exactly? And in which chain this makes sense?
I guess I need to run php update_binaries.php first to grab binaries out of my desired groups, right?

Im looking for a way how to handle all the encrypted releases in groups, just like town.

I tried with all 8 different arguments, without a succesful change of any releasename.

How may I handle such picture? Is there a way to decrypt those releases?

do you have deep rar inspection switched on ?

Do you have file names under RAR contents section of the release ?

Option 6  will use RAR contents file names to try and rename releases. Worst case the file names will be manually searchable so even if the release is not renamed, when your search your site the hashed releases should still be found.


Edit:  Just checked and file names are NOT searchable.

I tried to switch it on, but every time I change that specific spot in the Edit section of the administrator overview, the setting will not get stored. Looks like I have to find the option myself in the database (any assist is welcome).

Nonetheless, is there a way how my indexer grabs the specifc password aswell?
Like with a bot, connecting to the community forum f.e.? (sounds in theory kinda messy & complicated).

Don't know why the setting is not changing but the setting is in the setting table I think. Its easy enough to edit with mysqlworkbench.

As for automatic password grabbing, where are looking at getting the password from ?  Unless the location (forum for specific poster for example) has an API or your can screen scrape it then going to be difficult. If you could, then potentially you could add it to the comment for example. However I am guessing a lot of indexer automatically delete passworded posts.
