Obfuscated names
« on: 2014-05-10, 01:29:41 PM »
Hi @ all,

i've seen indexers like wizznab showing the releases in clear text instead of the obfuscated filenames.
Theres a very good group a.b.machnur or revolution, but where can i get the real name?

Thanks a lot for your answers!

Best wishes
Dr

you'll need to provide some examples as that doesn't give us much to work with

Ok,

While indexing a.b.machnur i got the following releasename
EgAmm6tvUvHuBH8o_kfj28LdR for a passworded release.
I dont know the real name at the Moment, but it could be the.mentalist.s01e01....

Hope this helps to understand my matter.

Best wishes

there is no way to decode those names unless you have access to the site that obfuscated them in the first place plus if they are password protected it doesn't matter anyway if you don't know the password

This appears to come from town.ag, a mostly German indexing site.

So if wizznab has them decoded then either they know how to decode them or they have someone with access to town.ag forums and are manually renaming them.

It's a bot. He wrote a bot which download/decode the nzbs from town.ag

Also some user upload nzbs from there on wizznab manually.

Here's a classic ... it looks like Town is moving to ZED. Maybe they might provide us a decode key?

I have the same problem.

Using:
a.b.town
a.b.u-4all
a.b.u4e
a.b.usenet-space-cowboys

But I only get Release Names like "4mq55m1hgmj56erjo5ua (01/51) "4mq55m1hgmj56erjo5ua.par2""
Is there something I'm doing wrong or how can I rename these releases to real release names ?

Thanks for help.

nzedb really should support a rarpassword file like SABnzbd does so it till be able to fix releasenames to something readable.
I know password for some of these sites and run a little private indexer for myself.
But to download i have to go there and manually download everything instead of being able to to it automatic.
If nzedb could index these releases with some password i put there that would solve the problem.
