Advertising Banner
« on: 2013-05-08, 08:24:05 PM »
Hey All;

I spoke to Jonnyboy in the irc channel and he said he would investigate it.
I suggested the ability of adding a banner to the footer of each page or selectable pages.
I am a usenetserver afiliate and wouldn't mind if my 8 users were to sign up for the yearly service package.
It wouldn't be for me reselling advertising space--- my site is hardly high usage.

I think it is possible. I just need the time to investigate it.

Yes its possible it just requires having an ad banner coded into the template wrapped in a smarty if statement that only loads the add for a certain user role.

You would create these new user roles of course..

(could also reverse it by always showing it but hiding it for premium members roles)

On a side note I have added the ad browse, header and detail area into the alpha theme and if empty it hides it it theres code in the fields it will show a fieldset with a little "Advertise" box label this can be attached to a role to be filtered also.
