Post-processing is not running through releases
« on: 2013-08-18, 11:22:25 pm »
I am running Dev and Stage 6 always says
Quote
Post-processing is not running through releases.php, in tmux or screen it might be running through another script.
Everything seems to be running ok. So I "guess" this message is getting displayed by mistake?

"in tmux or screen it might be running through another script."

It should say another pane I guess.

"in tmux or screen it might be running on another pane."

It threw me at first with the wording I must admit

There was a different info, it was commited by me: "Post-processing is done in post window", but someone changed that recently to a message you see.

Someone had edited releases.php in www/lib to display "Post processing is done in post window." instead of "Post processing is disabled." when update_releases.php in misc/update_scripts is ran with the 2 option.

So if you ran screen or update_releases you would see  "Post processing is done in post window."

Not everyone uses tmux, so it doesn't make sense with "Post processing is done in post window."

I was the one who edited it. Anyway, there should be another sentence, as pp IS done and is not disabled, right? The user doesn't care where it is run from (as it said it is not running through releases.php), but if it is running or not. So maybe one of the solutions is to receive the following message:
"postprocessing releases" and be done with it.PP is either running or not, user does not care from which script it is running or in what pane. My solution was for tmux, as pp wasn't disabled, it was running in post window, and jonnyboy approved it.

It was meant if you run update_Releases.php without true.

https://github.com/nZEDb/nZEDb/blob/dev/misc/update_scripts/update_releases.php#L72

"\nYou must pass a second argument whether to post process or not, true or false\n".

So if you run update_releases.php 1 false that means post proc is not running.

Tmux/screen might run update_releases.php 1 false in another screen/pane so yes it is disabled still in releases.php

I changed it to this, I think it's clear enough:
Post-processing is not running inside the releases.php file.
If you are using tmux or screen they might have their own files running Post-processing.

That sounds a lot better :)
