Regex / feel a little stupid
« Last post by jeremyrem on 2018-09-16, 05:31:13 PM »
I personally have to write a lot of regex a few times a week depending on what I am up too at work, and when I finally got around to attempting to write some for nZEDb, I spent maybe an hours trying to figure out why it wouldn't work on the testing page (never did get it to do anything but they work).

Long story short, I kept switching between a 2 testers, the mysqld cli, testing page, and one of my web scrappers I finally figured out that I wrote it for javascript not for pcre.

Feel pretty stupid now, even though for some reason the Release Naming Regex Test is not working for me (admin/release_naming_regexes-test.php?action=add).

Just glad I got it figured out, only if there was a way to add multiple different groups I would be really happy.

Guides / Re: HowTO: Install nZEDb on Ubuntu 16.0.4

Actually, the whole sequence in some areas are messed up. In step 9, you will use curl but later will be asked to install it. Same with the php7.0 installation, which was done earlier in the installation. Something is wrong here......

Code: [Select]
/var/log$ mysql_tzinfo_to_sql /usr/share/zoneinfo | mysql -u root mysql -p

doesn't work anymore. You have to use sudo on mysql now

Code: [Select]
/var/log$ mysql_tzinfo_to_sql /usr/share/zoneinfo | sudo mysql -u root mysql
also

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get –f install doesn't work if you copy & paste the code above, as the - is actually – which is not the same of course

Welcome to the nZEDb forums. We hope you will have a nice experience with both the indexing and forum.

General Talk / Hey everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself.

Been running my own server for years now, and just got back into usenet maybe 6-7 months ago (using the free indexers and 1 paid).

Anyways, got sick of everyone one wanting money to look at subpar indexers (only few categories I am interested in games are a big one) and finally decided to roll my own, hence how I found this place.

Long story short, have been using nzedb for maybe the past week pretty successfully, still have a lot of stuff to fix on my end (a lot of titles don't rename that well, among a few other issues) that I am working on, but overall I am very happy with the software and the community.

Thanks for accepting my application for the forums and look forward to learning more

Announcements / Release 0.8.10.0 2018-09-03
« Last post by Wally73 on 2018-09-06, 10:43:05 PM »
0.8.10.0 2018-09-03
Added:
   * Support for PHP 7.2

***NOTE*** You *must* run `composer install` manually as the lithium framework version has
changed and your current one will not have some of the new stuff that this update requires.

Also, there is currently no version of the php-yenc extension for PHP 7.2. I'm in the process
of rewriting it in C/C++, but I do not expect this to be quick, as my spare time is very short
    currently.

Support / Re: PRE's that do not appear in the regular PREDB

12 hours is not that long on the weekend. People have things to do other than watch chat all day :-)

You may be misunderstanding the purpose of the PReDb table. It is not to list every scene release, but to allow decoding of hashed releases.

On the other hand, if you understand that, then that site is either listing releases from private sources OR they are simply listing every release they hear of regardless of if they can find it on usenet.

That site appears to be a tool for finding if a release exists, it does nothing to help you find it.

Hey Archer, i fully understand people have other things to do, like myself ;-) and since i needed to leave my station i copied the question onto the forum.

I know how PReDb works, the things i was looking for is this:

There are some indexer's which have certain releases listed that aren't picked up by nZEDb.

These releases can be found on a few indexers posted by nEwZ[NZB] <pr3d@NET.world> , my install isn't picking these up, altough i have tried indexing the entire listing of a.b.newznzb.* groups, no luck.

Example:

Name:   I.Am.Paul.Walker.2018.WEB.x264-TBS
Group:   a.b.newznzb.mike
Category:   Movies > HD
Size:   646.10 MB (100%)

Name:   VA - Lloret 2018 (EDM Party)-(BLV5513966)-WEB-2018-ZzZz
Group:   a.b.newznzb.lima
Category:   Audio > MP3
Size:   248.88 MB (100%)

Where do these come from? which Pre source?

Support / PRE's that do not appear in the regular PREDB
« Last post by sinistra on 2018-08-11, 08:50:39 AM »
Since the chat was idle for over 12 hours i'm going to post it here aswell.

On this URL: https://allfilled.newznzb.info/ there appear to be PRE's that do not appear in the regular PREDB, are they private? or is there another channel to scrape? if so, does anybody know the name? besides the 2 known defined in the ircscraper_settings.php?

Announcements / Release 0.8.9.0 2018-08-06
« Last post by Wally73 on 2018-08-07, 01:33:34 AM »
0.8.9.0 2018-08-06
Changed:
   * Removed release counts, for the themes that used it, on group list templates.
   * Strip '00-' from searchname (mostly music titles) when parsing Par2 for a better name.
   * Search for all other/unknown categories (not just Misc>Other) when trying to fix names using
    Par2.
   * Add categorization for a.b.sounds.

Fixed:
   * Typo in querying database timezone.
   * When fetching RecordSet, check it is valid. If it is, return it;  otherwise return an empty
    array.
   * app\models\Groups::getBackfilling() to return array of groups filtered by active and backfill
    state.
   * Undefined index 'groupname' for Admin grouplist active/inactive pages.
   * Admin grouplist inactive page returning active groups.
   * \app\models\Groups::getRange() to correctly handle pagination and filtering by a groupname.
   * Query string for group (in)active pages pagination.
   * Quotation marks around $groupname need to be double, not single. Filtering should work again.
   * Update location of smarty's library files for the SMARTY_DIR constant during install.
